Protopod Design
This period in my career makes me reflect on what might have occurred if I had remained at Chronicle Books. Working at Chronicle Books involved many wonderful projects. However, I decided to leave and start Protopod Design with two other designers due to the emerging dotcom industry. Starting a new business brought new challenges, including not only design work but also handling new business, marketing, finances, and more, significantly increasing the workload.
Eventually, I opted to return to the corporate sector. While at Protopod one of my clients was WritersCorp, a project of the San Francisco Arts Commission, which places professional writers in community settings to teach creative writing to youth. One noteworthy project was their annual anthology, featuring youth writing and photography.
