I'm a designer, a lifelong learner, and at home — a mother, wife, and devoted staff to two cats. I grew up with an architect father who taught me the value of structure, and a mother who was endlessly curious about the world. Both of those things live in me, and both found a natural home in design. I'm drawn to the way design holds structure and discovery in equal measure — every project brings new questions: Who is the audience? What are we trying to tell them? How do we make it simple and clear? I believe in creating things that are beautiful and easy to get. That balance is what drives me, and honestly, it's why I love what I do.

Why the Y
My name is spelled with a y — and that was entirely my mom's doing. She loved the name Gayle but didn't like the more common 'Gail' spelling, so she went looking for something different. I still have to point it out, most people default to the 'ai' — but every time I do, I think of her. And honestly, isn't the y a lovely shaped letter anyway?
